The primary purpose of the position is to assist the Administrative Officer I in administrative processes at a correctional facility.
The position will be responsible for Human Resource functions in the areas of recruitment and hiring, human resource record procedures and accountability (Worker's Compensation, applications, payroll information), disciplinary actions, and benefits/compensation (LOA, Separations, etc.
), employee service award program, and the appraisal process/performance management.
The position maintains extensive knowledge of all human resource policies and procedures to ensure accountability.
The position must have knowledge of the policies and procedures for prisons to effectively complete assigned job duties.
The position will collect information to generate reports, documents, etc.
and establish a filing system to maintain documents and records.
The position will handle miscellaneous correspondence, and respond, both orally and written to departmental staff, and the general public in administrative matters that affect the facility.
The position will develop and maintain a variety of monthly, quarterly, and yearly detailed and complex reports by independently gathering data and information.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
Scheduled workdays and hours for this position would be Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm and may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business needs.

About the NC Dept.
of Adult Correction (DAC):
The Dept.
of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws.
This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision.
Other divisions include Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission, and Rehabilitation & Reentry.
Caswell Correctional Center is located in Blanch, NC in Caswell County and is a medium custody, male felon unit with a maximum capacity of 484 offenders.
